I am excited to have these works from earlier in my career on display at the Spinetta Family Law Center in Martinez. Painted in the late 90’s, the works were generated in a burst of creativity in a very physical kind of dance. In a way I felt the work channeled itself through me. I approached the pieces intuitively, spontaneously selecting bold and bright colors.  I painted moving fluidly back and forth, toward and away from the canvas. In the beginning I felt aggressive and intense. However, as the paintings coalesced, I experienced a catharsis. Symbolic of a dramatic transition in my life, painting them was a transformative experience.
